Touchiteudya detail – SimuLygus Touchit Eudya – Giant Box Elder Beetle with egg sacks The Giant Box Elder Beetle and the Giant Pine Borer (Callidium Gigantum) are believe to have arrived with the alien botanicals. Touchit Eudya isn’t a true lygus but is named that because of its striking resemblance to milkweed beetles. It may be more closely related to the mysterious Psamminae. It lays eggs that look like pine cones. Just before they are about to hatch they become glossy and moist. At this point the male beetle becomes highly protective and will attack anything close to them, licking them furiously with its proboscus. 14” x 23” earthenware and stoneware
